Literally just discord with a commitment to privacy - which isn’t worth very much until they implement encryption.

Lots of branding, with no clear features to set it apart.

Perhaps one of the alpha users can convince me otherwise. Why does this need to be it’s own product instead of just contributing to Matrix? Matrix bridges to everything already and has essentially the same mandate (with the bonus of federation.)

This really needs a comparison chart. Also I really wish they just made a Matrix client instead of starting their own protocol. They claim that they will implement a Matrix bridge but that seems like a lot of effort compared to just using Matrix.

And most importantly. I want security information. Is this end-to-end encrypted?

      • Cool!

Is it federated, or is that something planned? Are they planning anything to differentiate from Matrix or the other proprietary chats (Discord, Slack, etc.)? Matrix and Element are becoming more and more usable all the time, so I’m curious to see how this one compares.

Then its dead in the water IMO. Why would ppl want to switch to something built without federation or encryption.

It has no license? They say its open source and you can create your own client but, I don’t see any license, which means they have all rights reserved and the code isn’t free.

Maybe I didnt look hard enough but it should be pretty clear what license it’s under. Seems kinda sketchy.

Edit: It seems some of the projects have a license, but not the server.
