Wouldn’t it be awesome if boomers had obligations for their grandchildren? Climate change is removedin this time of year

I honestly believe no, in general. Someone very special dies, i think we should preserve their legacy. However, if you’re talking about showing respects to a dead friend/family member …no. those traditions are only for the living.

What about the cultural or religious beliefs if the dead? Plenty of cultures have specific procedures for handling the dead that are considered sacred, yet no one else cares the instant it becomes inconvenient. Biggest example is Native Americans simply wanting the government to not bulldoze their ancestral burial grounds and build a mall over it, but noooo they’re just being selfish and can’t let go!

I get what you are saying, but i still see this as respect for the cultural beliefs of the living or lack there of, as the case may be.

I don’t believe dead people have cultures, or anything as they are dead. Their survivors do.

I think that if dead people would like their estate to be handled a certain way, we should respect that. The same goes for how they are berried and whether or not they would like a service for the living. That way, when you die, you can be assured that the same respects a courtesies will be extended onto you.

The almost dead certainly act as though they have no obligations to the living

Showing respect for someone you respected during their lifetime should be self-evident

We should respect their memory, because it’s one of the ways we can outlast our own lives.
