I hate it too. Most of my friends are from work though, so that’s the least common denominator for all conversations. We spend the most time together there, and it’s a lot of shared experiences. I try to balance it out by taking extra effort to be engaged with their outside work stuff. Going to their events, active listening, supporting, etc.

Toki Pona might be better just because it uses more common sounds and less of them. Might be easier to learn and speak from a background like Cantonese or something. Isn’t Esperanto very euro-centric?

I know Canada will be different, but only 20% of Americans live in “rural” areas. That means that most cities just need to add value to their transit systems. I have a lot of conflictions about this personally. On the one hand, fuck cars! Especially the stupid big pickups that can kill an elephant. On the other hand, they removed the loudest whenever the are inconvenieced the slightest, and it takes away validity from the overall object of fewer cars. What are other people’s take on this?

The better solution is to have not created the problem to begin with. It is an awesome possibility to undo the date that we’ve done, but it doesn’t give us a pass to continue doing what we’re doing. Like saying “We can keep making all the trash we do cause we just burn it! Isn’t it great?”
