Enjoy.> What video games are you playing? What have you finished recently? What do you plan to play? - Video Game General Discussion Thread #18
I played RDR2, I finished the game so I’m just hunting and fishing now.
Wholesome.
Decided to give Stellaris a try, see what the hype is all about. The gameplay is surprisingly enjoyable, scouting out planets, building space stations. Pretty fun.
But the game has such a blatantly obvious liberal bias, it’s not even funny.
I hear Stardew Valley is also surprisingly addicting and enjoyable.
So have I. But I’m going through steam library (mine and in family sharing)
Awesome.
1. What video games have I played recently?
The video games I’ve played most recently are OpenTTD and RimWorld
2. What are my favorite video game genres?
My favorite genres of video games are resource management and logistics games such as Factorio, RimWorld, OpenTTD, and, one I plan on trying soon, Dwarf Fortress.Gotcha. Thanks!
I have logged 70 hours on elden ring
all of my free time goes to it
it is a problem.
ha! same, but I didn’t buy it so no online, so to satisfy my desire for variety I use yapped-rune-bear to mod the game, also cheat engine because you can pretty much make any spell you can think of
oof
I’ve been playing project Zomboid, and I like historical games
I’ve heard good things about Project Zomboid.
It’s fun, but it takes a while to learn how to play
oof
Probably not for me then.

Always a blast. Sandbox and survival games are always quite fun!
Awesome!

Right now I’m taking a break from games, after playing them for some time.
-
Role-Playing Games, First-Person Shooters and Simulators (notably Parenting Sims).
Thanks for the mention, Makan!
no prob!

- Factorio, though I have to put it in hold a lot bc it’s addicting for me. I started playing disco Elysium recently and I’m in love with it. Ive never played a game with better writing or narrative.
- Sandbox, RPG, Nintendo platformers
Disco Elysium is great and I recommend it to every communist out there.
- Rogue Trader Alpha test from Owlcat Games
- Turn based strategy
I’m highly anticipating that game.
For me, its a TON of fun. Love the story and dialog, im a little tired of routine western fantasy europe, so sci-fi RPG is exciting. Imagine them making a turn based RPG for ttRPGs like Starfinder, or Fragged EMpire. I can only wish…
Ah, so you’re indeed playing the beta version.
How’s Rogue Trader?
First, its not based on d20 D&D like mechanics. Its very loosely based on FFG’s Rogue Trader ttrpg (d100) Support characters can be critical to overall success. You have to move first then attack, but I rarely just moved and attacked, its always selecting a talent or skill to aid move and hit. I really enjoyed it, cause its very similar to XCOM. Story is what I expected someone would make had they played most of the FFG Dark Heresy and Rouge Trader ttrpg’s campaigns and adventures. Dialog is good, UI was slow but its a Windows only game, and I am playing on Linux via Proton. I got super excited and played 40 hours and forced myself to stop, so far I have not played past the story of act 2.
Thanks!
Finally finished SMTV after 100 hours of gameplay, now i am enjoying Chained Echoes. It’s a great game.
Heard great things about both!
Universe Sandbox, its just fun to blow up planets or put a random star in the solar system, etc
Never heard of that one.
- Smash 64 (got it for Christmas :)), LoZ OOT (my replay on the forest temple rn), Some melee as usual, some Touhou 10 I guess.
- RPGS (mostly of the J variety), 3D platformers, Sim type games (e.g. animal crossing, the sims, citiy skylines if you wanna stretch it), visual novels, also rhythm games.
Also got Halflife 1 and 2 so gonna play those, as well as Portal 2, and terraria.
Great collection there!
