They’re definitely not intelligent, the LLMs are not gonna produce anything innovative at all. However, they’re a pretty awesome integrator of already developed tools/knowledge, which is why you hear about LLMs cracking unsolved math problems and such. Not because the AI made an innovation but because we already have the knowledge and tools needed to crack these problems, there just wasn’t someone that integrated it.
