Lol at “worse schools”. No one on the planet has worse schools than the US. UK schools are pretty awful too but at least theirs don’t get shot up every other week.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but my favourite is framing less focus on work as a bad thing lol.

Those who can afford to move to a western European country are generally decently wealthy enough to be comfortable. Pure idealism to think that someone will just switch countries for the sake of ideology (some do but it’s not common).

Plus far-right political parties are gaining momentum all over western Europe.

That’s a long roundabout way for a person to say that they hate the world outside of the US even though they’ve never experienced it.

As if you don’t need “proper” justification to leave this hellmouth as well, meaning career skills that are in high demand in the nation, complete fluency in the language, a job lined up, and maybe even blood relation to someone in or from the country. Marriage, maybe. I’d be off this sinking ship to the DPRK ASAP if I could.

Also “moving to Europe” lol. Where in Europe? I’d personally move to Malta but the only feasible way to get citizenship there is to invest $500,000 into the economy. Good luck.

Straight up selfish and personal: Malta is not in NATO and it doesn’t have a national history of imperialism or settler colonialism so I could sleep a tiny bit more peacefully at night. It is in the EU which blows, but also would mean I’d have free-ish reign to visit my friends and comrades who live in Europe. The weather is incredible and consistent compared to the wild dichotomy of Midwestern U.S. freezeflame, they have universal Healthcare, and they are world-renown for their inclusivity regarding LGBT people, being labeled the safest place for trans people in the world more than a few times.

The Labour Party is… fine. It’s a socdem party but Malta isn’t imperialist so 🤷 The opposing Nationalist Party has a direct lineage to a pro-Mussolini fascist party, on the other hand. They’ve softened a lot on social issues, going so far as to begin supporting LGBT rights, and are seemingly not in favor of privatizing their healthcare… just an eclectic party with various factions. This all means I wouldn’t be hit with an existential crisis every time the greater evil won.

All selfish, for sure. They’re not exactly based or anything either (although they did at one point in the past have close ties with the DPRK, Kim Jong-Il allegedly spent time learning English there), but I could see myself leading a life I felt was worth living there. Grass is always greener ofc.

edit: just found out abortion is illegal in all cases in Malta. nvm, fuck Europe.

    • American MaturityTM is the realisation that government bad, aUtHoRiTaRiAnIsM, everyone is only ever out for themselves, there is no free lunch, and other assorted soundbites with no meaning.

Worse than other westerners, americans don’t mature into healthy, decent people. They become MatureTM americans.

Maybe they meant something like not getting your country get wrecked in world war 1/2. They see the countries in question as “defeated” and then a new beginning happened led by the US, UK for countries like Germany, France etc? Idk

“Exists only on the US (maybe the UK)” is the embodiement of american chauvinism. It is this mentality that shows how the US despises every other country in the world, and maybe even other anglo countries. Europe is worthless to the US, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, those are all just glorified turistic atractions at best, or just military bases or sex tourism places.

This massive lack of empathy that comes from the US will be their ruin.
