Meanwhile my bank’s archaic website does not allow pasting test into the password box.

Yes, because they don’t want you copying it from passwords.txt haha.

On a serious note have you tried keypassXC? it can type in where your curser is and its VERY satisfying to watch it circumventing those archaic no-paste fields.

I think they pretty much all do since integrating a real 2fa app would have to go through ten different approval processes and then also get approved by their federal insurance and stuff. Banks are some of the most inefficiently run institutions around.

My bank blanks out the username and password fields with other text on submission. Not sure what the intention was, but it means that Firefox and password managers will remember the wrong information.

Your password is invalid. The maximum length is 12 letters.

I have a pocketbook with different passwords that I keep in a safe.

This is an underestimated and undercommunicated option. Not everything has to be in a digital format just because it can be. In particular for the less tech savvy.

If those passwords are strong enough, then you’re going to have fun typing them in by hand. If they’re typeable, they’re not strong enough.

3 unrelated words with no spaces is easy to type and quite strong.

It’s a 3 letter password out of an alphabet of 100,000. And since you aren’t including 2-letter words in it, or for that matter 19-letter monstrosities, we can narrow that down a bit too. Hell, it’s probably using the vocabulary of 3rd grade reader books… more likely to use “horse” than “echolocation”.

I mean, it’s not as if a computer randomly chose the 3 words, is it? They’re more related than you think.

None of this is strong, it’s the illusion of strong by people too lazy to start doing passwords correctly. Get a fucking password manager already.

Just because the password consist of words, doesn’t mean it’s weak. For example, ‘piercing chimney ferocious grandular menacing’ is not a weak password.
