Context : have used Thunderbird for years : when it crashes it makes a mess. Have lost many emails this way, so i want a client for which each email is saved as a single file. My search points to “Zimba

Maybe consider submitting your findings to the Thunderbird Team, so they can fix it. I never had a single crash with Thunderbird and or Betterbird.

i am pushing the hardware and software in bad territory, so, it’s not Thunderbird fault it’s mine.
Nevertheless, i am seeking clients which are more fault tolerant. in my view, one email = one file, would help in that direction … and it would allow me to write simple programs to play with these files.

As far as "tui" can be, it seems perfect.
. text user interface (based app)

N.B. : it’s website : https://aerc-mail.org/
shows a 30MBytes video intro // screen cast + voice … isn’t that ironic ?

I use Neomutt, which runs in the terminal. I believe Emacs also has a email client too.

Do you use it on iOS, iPhone, iPad, MacOS, etc… or on Linux ?
is it better than “Claws Mail” on Linux ?

I use it on Android and Linux. There are certain things it doesn’t do, but on mobile I found fairly useful, and the more social aspect of it is cool. If I need a full featured e-mail client I use Thunderbird then.

The bugs listed in the latest release is from 2016. I’d probably not risk it :)

Exactly the sort of thing that i should know and i don’t know. Many thanks.

Now i want to create another post about this Linux : Lightweight Portable Security
Because it was founded by the US Department of Defense it should have been the ultimate secured Linux … i can’t understand why they stop it in 2021 !

Update : LPS Linux is meant to be used without persistance for security reasons, so, i will not use this.
