Really overestimating the attention span of their typical constituent
That’s about the max a lib can devote to understanding a deeply complex issue.
5 sentences is about all you can get away with when your party has no substance beyond begging for money.
5 sentences about how we will improve citizens lives:
- Trump bad (we’re not Trump)
- we’re considering some (means-tested) tax credits for people who have been evicted due to medical bankruptcy
- more funding for police (we made them sign a form saying they weren’t racist. Most refused but at least they know)
- we believe in climate change. We have a comprehensive plan to move away from fossil fuels by the year 4000.
- if you don’t vote for us, we’ll email your employer that you like Putin.
Registering as a Democrat was the biggest mistake of my life.
I legit tried to declare myself independent this year and couldn’t figure out how to do it in my state.

The national emergency alert system, (Ya know… the extremely important one for disasters, and amber alert?) logs all phone numbers to be able to send out vital information. Governmental officials can use the collected phone numbers for other purposes.
I think the risk of the DNC finding my email is low since I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean from them

simplelogin is great for cloaking your email address. if an alias is leaked, you can just turn that off and never receive anything from those spammers again. they will probably do a november discount for the yearly sub for anyone interested in trying it. it also has a free tier but the number of aliases is limited.
i also had a similar issue with receiving emails from american democrats (it was before or after the 2016 elections) despite never stepping foot in the country, i really have no idea how they got it. i had to stop using that email, it was that bad. it was only a spare personal email so i wasn’t feeling too bad about changing it but it’s still very annoying.

It’s cool how registering to vote just puts you on a bunch of spam lists without your consent. I’ve never signed up for any of them voluntarily but as soon as I registered back in 2016 (as an independent, by the way) it was just a deluge of “hey it’s the ineffectual controlled opposition party here, can we have some money? you don’t want the RePuBLiCaNs to win, do you?”
