Cognitive dissonance between the bottom line of their “leftism” and the bootlicking was showing somewhat. Some of .worlders even had decent takes in some threads. Hey, maybe this is why they suddenly defederated, they seen some of their accounts molting liberalism?

As someone whose main instance is .world, I kinda expected this was coming ever since Hexbear got insta-defederated but I’m still disappointed. Anyway, that’s why I signed up here.

That said, I noticed a massive disconnect between the ridiculous claims people make about ther interactions with Lemmygrad users and my own experience. They really will consider themselves as the most reasonable progressives ever and then claim harassment when their lib bullshit is called out.

No kidding. I binged the entire thread and nowhere in there do they provide any concrete proof of the “”“hate speech”“” they’re claiming, not even the admin. And it’s not like they’d rather avoid coming here and taking screenshots because they did screenshot this one post. But the people asking for example get hit with a “iT’s sO oBvIoUs”, “iF yOu wEnT tO LeMmYgRaD aNd dIdN’t sEe ThE pRoBlEm, yOu ShOuLd StAy ThErE 🤪”.

But hey, I did see people claiming that they saw Lemmygrad users justifying the indigenous genocide by the US (!) and calling the working class “subhuman trash” (!!). Of course, no links or screenshots provided despite tht fact that other commenters ask for them.

Some commenters in the thread say that this might be politically motivated and, I mean, it obviously is, but they were downvoted to oblivion lmao

What a bunch of sad losers lol. Here I am waiting for Lemmy to implement actual account migration to move my memes/general purpose account out of there.

Lemmy.world will always take immediate action to remove and ban any posts or comments that incite violence or propagate hatred.

Most of the .world comments I’ve seen here fit that criteria.

It’s like theyre trying to push the limits bc they know they’re mostly privileged kids and lib university students. Just a constant competition for the Boldest Opinion, except they’re never allowed to tie it to an actual cause (unless its the worst one possible)

So, opposing zionism is where their limit is. Good to know, I guess…

I won’t even bother with the hate speech nonsense. Same ol’ “for thee, but not for me”.

The big brained morons at lemmy dot world do realise that the majority of the world recognises the state of Palestine and considers what Israel is doing as apartheid, right? The world is not just the US and Europe. Yet again Lemmy dot world takes a stance that the majority of the world is in disagreement with.

What “hate speech” are these guys talking about? Hasn’t our instance documented tons of instances of hate speech on THEIR website?

    “Hate speech”

Israel is an illegal, illegitimate, settler-colonial project built upon genocide of indigenous Palestinians, the continued oppression of Palestinians, land theft, and really too much else to put into words.

Oh no, I did a hate speech!

Fucking losers and baby-brain morons over there who should’ve stayed on their hugbox website. Nothing I said there is glorifying the murder of literally anyone, but if you want to know why anyone got murdered, it’s very simple: lock people in a giant prison, starve them, bomb them, shoot them, deprive them of every necessity of life, and treat them as less than animals… and eventually they will say “fuck it. I’m going to die here anyway. I will make my oppressors feel a sliver of the pain I’ve felt.” And there you have it. Pretending or lying or focusing on recent small-in-comparison deaths of Israelis is just further attempts to dehumanize and justify genocide of Palestinians.

Mourning is absolutely fine. But when your “mourning” becomes “these animals did this!” That’s no longer ok or fine. You don’t get to blame the oppressed for fighting for freedom or for fighting to just make the oppressors feel bad. I know people get assmad over this fact, but the fact is, every person living in “Israel” is oppressing the people in Gaza (specifically, and elsewhere too). That makes them not “civilians” anymore than Germans feeding the Nazi forces were civilians. You can argue laws and morality all day long, but when it comes down to it, they all participated in it to some degree even by remaining in Israel when other options were available. Too many people want to play the “but my grandparents came here” card, which I understand to a degree. They didn’t ask to be born there, etc. But it is their responsibility to end the ongoing genocide, and if they don’t act to end it, these recent actions by Hamas showed the consequences of inaction. And if they genocide more, there’s only going to be more Israeli deaths. If the people truly value life on both sides or even just their own lives/families, then end the fucking apartheid state, reform Palestine and dissolve Israel. Admit that what was done there was an atrocity and reparations are due. None of this is saying “kill the Israeli Jews!” as those morons on reddit and world would claim. My solution, the one Palestinians and Arabs and many others worldwide want, is the one that leads to actual equitable peace, no more wars. Standing against ending apartheid, saying “they have a right to be mad” about Israelis, etc. is all in the opposite direction. No, I’m sorry, they do NOT have a right to be mad on a state level. Individually? Ok. Who cares. This isn’t about individuals being pissed off their baby died. This is about preventing anymore babies from dying and if you’re a sick piece of shit that thinks 1000 Israelis dying justifies bombing Gaza into nothing. Well, I can’t say, or shouldn’t say what should happen to people who say that.

Meh. I hope that they have fun without this. They clearly would have benefitted from it.

I almost want to laugh seeing them unjokingly using the term ‘totalitarian’, which is usually a clue that somebody hasn’t been keeping up with modern historical scholarship. If they were writing in the 20th century then I could understand that, but being a totalitarian theorist in the 2020s should be pretty embarrassing.

Oh this is actually very helpful as I’ve been confused about the term “totalitarian” as it’s been used in so many different contexts it’s hard to figure out what it actually means. At best I’ve seen people use it interchangeably with “authoritarian.”

Authoritarian is when they don’t like a state. The more the don’t like that state, the more authoritarian it is. And when they really hate it, it’s totalitarian.

Yeah it’s the same thing as calling a country bad or evil, but with a big word that sounds academic. You can get away with saying the most horrific shit here if it’s spoken in formal language.
