After reading the first sentence I couldn’t follow the logic, they get hard when a woman’s hair is shaped like a flaccid penis? Then I read the second sentence and still can’t quite follow the logic.

Japan trats the female neck as a erotic and erogenous area. Married women tie the hair leaving the neck accessible to her spouse and single ones should cover the area.

      EDIT: Source for my claims

"The nape is the back of the neck. In technical anatomical/medical terminology

      […]

In traditional Japanese culture, the nape (項, unaji) was one of the few areas of the body (other than face and hands) left uncovered by women’s attire. The nape of a woman’s neck held a strong attraction for many Japanese men (see oshiroi)."

Yes! I remember reading many years ago traditional apache people used to consider female heels (body part) and elbows parts that should be covered, because they are sexy and suggestive.

Same country that banned long skirts and made girls wear short ones, and also dictates what colour their underwear is. Very normal place

I feel like the unspoken fear here is that the male students are such uncontrolled animals that they will immediately rape the nearest woman they see once they’re “excited.” Which, you know, seems like a much bigger concern than ponytails.

´We can´t stop our boys from turning into predators and raping everything with a body temperature over 98 degrees F, so please don´t show the slightest hint of having a neck, girl.´

Right. Dress codes are about perpetuating rape culture, just like abortion is about ensuring that women keep working, don’t create new welfare recipients, and remain available for future sex demands. If she can’t take care of that child 100% on her own, then she better not have it. If she wants to have sex with the powerful men, then she must have surgery to prevent unwanted entanglements. “She’ll ruin her life!”

I think all the sexualization of minors in their anime and “nah bro its fine she just looks 14, shes a vampire that’s 10,000 years old.” Bullshit is probably a lot worse than long hair styled a certain way

Japan punishing women for the actions/behaviour of men. You’d think they’d address the attitudes of the boys first but that would actually make sense.
