    Not just open source, strongly copyleft ensuring that anyone who improves on the code benefits the community as a whole.

        Oversimplified: basically if you create a derivative work of a copyleft IP (like changing it or including it in a different project), then you also have to release your derivative under the same or a compatible license that is also copyleft.

    I wish there wasn’t such a heavy tech focus. Common problem with a lot of the alternatives, the early adopters get on but they only want to talk about tech!

      no there are tons of communities on here that don’t talk about tech lol. you should make ur own then!

    I love Lemmy! My biggest gripe is how heavily dependant of JavaScript is. But that’s it. I love everything else about it :)
