Because in many countries at various times you couldn’t be taken seriously by the bulk of working people if you didn’t call yourself a socialist or at least attach a “social” label to your beliefs like “social-democratic,” “social-liberal,” “social-conservative,” “social market,” “social teaching,” or “social justice,” to say that you’re not just a standard right-winger, you’re a right-winger who fights against the degenerates or the traitors or the elites or ethnic minorities or whatever for material gains for the working classes. Fascism, corporatism, national socialism, social liberalism/conservatism/democracy, etc. exist to provide a vehicle for capitalist-bought politicians to channel revolutionary energy towards what at least in theory is supposed to be a more stable capitalist order.

I remember Frogsknecht having some… interesting takes regarding Duterte, and albanianbolshevik consistently claiming that “LGBT imperialism” was a huge problem in his country and was anti-communist. I must have been there whenever there was still dialogue between genzedongers and ES users, as those comments were usually very controversial upvote/downvote and argued about. I believe frogsknecht banned a Filipino comrade for having “Maoist sympathies” or some shit because they said Duterte was not a Marxist-Leninist, as frogsknecht had claimed.
It’s sort of incredible watching the degeneration of a mind. Also sad. I think he must have thought he was onto some sort of contrarian super-truth that Marxist-Leninists are not aware of or something, and that led him further and further down the path of supporting full blown fascism. I’d wager he’s fallen into some really fucked up rabbit holes – don’t mean to psychoanalyze him or anything, just wild how they still call themselves communists.

Yeah i remember when they were making that sub they invited everyone from Genzedong (or maybe even MTC, i forgot when it was exactly) who was from Europe, hell i was even one of the original mods there for few days until i confirmed being mod is not for me.
Anyway for a long time that sub had undeserved bad press, courtesy of libs from SLS who got pissed after being banned for some ultra shenanigans. Takes were various there, often going in more conservative vein of very orthodox takes straight from the 1920’s and Hoxha, but the label “nazbol” was very exaggerated, and they were the only sub on communist reddit who regulrarily informed about the rise of neonazism in Ukraine and reported about ukrainian atrocities in Donbass.
I don’t know how it’s now since after Ukraine war started the rest of communists noticed the issue and i was not visiting there, but if the sample is representative for more than that one guy, it’s probably not good.
