On the other hand, I live in eastern Italy, which has been trying for the past 30 years to gain some autonomy from the rest of the country, and you can often spot here and there houses waving the “Gonfalone of San Marco” flag (which is Veneto’s regional flag, a heritage of the Republic of Venice)
