      If Lemmy devs are not proactively trying to block backups, then it’s a bug. Actually, it’s a bug if the decision to host a static or dynamic instance is not in the hands of the instance admin. Doesn’t old.reddit avoid imposing j/s? Lemmy should have a config switch so node admins can control whether they deploy a static or dynamic instance.

      Dynamic pages should not be hard-wired from the beginning b/c the effort in changing direction heightens as the project evolves.
