I’m still using Tusky on Android because it’s on F-Droid. As far as I can see, the new official client is not there. Is it worth installing it or not worth the effort since it’s not on F-Droid and I can’t one-click install it?
What do you recommend?

The local timeline has been added in the new release of the app.

It doesnt have unlisted, and federated timeline
The federated timeline is so important to instances just starting out. Really, really hope Eugen reconsiders phasing it out.
Hey mate, any updates about that right now or is this feature still missing?
Mastodon client has a better designed UI, but it does not support multiple accounts. If you are happy interacting with a single Mastodon instance, I’d say it is a very good app.
You mean account switching? If you hold the profile tab on the bottom right there’ll be the account switcher popup.
Personally I prefer the official client more than Tusky, also it dropped just in time right before the Twitter news
I like it so far, comparable to tusky
It feels comfortable, though limited, but still developing. The commit is quite active on Github.
any news on when it’s coming on F-Droid?
It’s already on F-Droid via IzzyOnDroid repository.

Late reply because I didn’t know much except someone said “it’s on the pipeline” so I don’t bother to reply.
I looked to its Github issue about F-Droid package, one refers to this merge request https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/merge_requests/10909
There’s discussion about building dependency issue and how the push notification work because the one on IzzyOnDroid marked as dependent on non-free services. It’s still being worked on.
Worth it? It works for me
As someone who just started using Mastodon today, it seems like just using a mobile web browser is better than the official app.
I couldn’t login to an instance that wasn’t listed in the app
