I have not even thought about the war in weeks, and randomly catch myself remembering that it’s actually still ongoing.

Weird that, according to this thread, for some reason the war is not talked about anymore. But it is in Belgium and The Netherlands. And big things happened this week, with nuke talks and the grain deal collapsing. What are we over here doing differently?

I don’t know about other places, but it’s still talked about in the US, too. The sensationalism has largely worn off, though, so it’s not being given the same urgency anymore.

Internal differences? USA not to mention NATO was not entirely a monolith even in their best times and now when entire thing is faltering there’s bound to be some stretched seams. Brits are especially easy to explain that they will try to push things because their country is crumbling right now and they grasp the “external threat” to divert people’s attention from how much their last few governments failed.

Exactly. This happens every time, like clockwork. People mad at Clinton for raping an intern? Hey, look at what the evil Serbs are doing! Snowden’s revelations causing massive anger and potential unrest? Well, Evil Dictator Assad is using chlorine gas on his own people! US in economic freefall? Here, look at Ukraine…

Long after the fact, people will freely admit they were played. But yet they keep falling for the same trick, time after time after time.

I keep telling people here that when the USA collapses, they had better hope for enemies as forgiving as Russia.
