I tried reciting this in HS (we had a competition for best poem reading years and years ago when I was an HS senior) and the teacher denied it for it being controversial and I read “America” by Claude McKay instead. At the time I thought nothing of it, but now knowing as much as I do about Lenin, it’s a crime to portray him as a criminal.
