A “Lemmy federation map”, showing linked, allowed and blocked instances.

It’s beautiful
Nice ! What metrics do the node and line size represent?
cyan means linked, red blocked, green federated, the node size is dependent on the linked count
what’s the difference between “linked” and “federated”?
as far is i understand while linked only one instance is set up for federation, e.g. both instances not open for federation, but using whitelists
If I get this right, szmer.ino is marked only as linked? We’ve got open federation (+blacklist).
I see, thanks !

You need to ask @wintermute@feddit.de. Mentions seem to be broken though, so try commenting in the linked thread.
That’s cool - what do the different colours mean?
interesting that it calls lemmy users “lemmies”The obvious one red and green stands for federation or blocking, ie szmer instance has lemmygrad instance on its blocklist. As for the two kinds of green I’ve no idea.
that’s awesome!
does anybody here have the source code?
i’m going to upload it sometime soon
@wintermute@feddit.de made this.

Whats the url of your instance?

Could you post the federation section of your config?

That looks correct for open federation. Do you have a firewall, or anything that would block outgoing connections from Lemmy? Anything in the logs?

You installed with Docker? Then I’m out of ideas, only other idea would be to reinstall (maybe on a fresh server).
updated lemmymap which now shows the node size depending on the actual number of linked instances,
as the list under linked instances incorrectly contains non-Lemmy entries or outdated links on some instances. This looks very useful now! Only thing I’m missing now is a button to open the instance. Or at least a way to copy the link.
Does the full circle vs empty circle of an instance mean anything? And I would use the user number (or active users) for node size. But of course thats your decision.
