What is the best facebook fediverse platform. I want something that is more private which you connect with friends and family.

I know of Frendica and there is Minds which is not yet federated but is working on becoming federated.

friendica offers mastodon AND diaspora communities.
      diaspora is purely diaspora style.

With its ‘aspects’ and hashtags, it’s much more a Google±replacement to me. I like it to get in touch with foreign people about similiar interests and topics - but I don’t think that it’s a good replacement for Facebook. Soapbox or maybe Friendica with little deductions.

I don’t know anyone who uses it, but friendica seemed really great when I test-ran it a few months ago.

Wdym by Facebook fediverse? There’s nothing like that. Fediverse has different interconnected servers and you can choose ones according to your interests and language. You might also host your own server.

I think they meant “Fediverse platform working similarly to Facebook”

For private and public photo sharing with a 5000 character description limit and commenting there is Pixelfed. I use it as a private and public Instagram. There is also Misskey which has internal non-federated groups on it’s own instance, files and picture sharing. You could try-out if Misskey is something and self-host. It has mobile apps well.

You say you want something more private for friends and family, but fediverse is about connecting with the fediverse… as I interpret your question you could use any social platform or forum software you want, it doesn’t seem need to be fediverse enabled, is that right?

Friendica and Hubzilla are both “closest” to Facebook with long posts, photo albums, calendars, events, etc.
