The free market choosing chromium over all competition does mean it’s a superior product. That’s no fallacy, that’s centuries worth of economic theory that has been well studied and proven.

      My “favourite” comment:

      Such delectable schadenfreude…

Firefox is circling the drain and all you can do is blame anyone but mozilla.

The free market combined with human free will, in all its glorious action. The people have chosen their preferred product, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Sucks to suck!

Clearly you just need to grow up and realize that the world doesn’t revolve around you.

Personally, I think it strikes a good balance between stability and software update frequency. I like having the latest app versions but still need the system to not crash.

Most firefox “incompatibility” can be fixed by changing your user agent. While this is most likely a classic case of large companies refusing to support multiple platforms if they don’t have to, I wouldn’t be too surprised if there are some back door dealings going on.

Google shows an old version of their mobile page on Firefox to make you think that the browser itself can’t support modern pages.

      Wonder why.

Same argument I’ve seen with Linux desktops: “why bother? Windows and Mac dominate the market anyway,” often insinuating that you’re foolish for using Linux over Windows or Mac.

I actually see this more from Mac users, since Mac is Unix and can do most of the things that Linux can do (just with a lot less freedom but they don’t give a crap), they think Linux is straight up useless because “you can just get a mac.”

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I’m just salty from dealing with Mac elitists on the internet.

This is like those free market buddies you have in a group chat.

The free market combined with human free will, in all its glorious action. The people have chosen their preferred product, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

The thing about capitalism, it has the tendency to use anything to it’s advantage. Like the above comment, when people don’t understand the gravity of privacy implications and how Big Tech does stuff in the open & behind the scenes (usually it gets diluted by shit ton of distraction from mass media), capitalism is going to use it and say, “That’s what people want, it’s their choice & freedom!”. This kind of strategy will only work as long as masses aren’t much concerned or unaware.

If you are quoting madaidan on such matters, then I will quote Arnold Schwarzenegger on making nutritious food for you.
