X11 was released 36 years ago. Given this, who would want to continue using X11? X11 it’s a nightmare even from it’s developers perspective. I mean, X11 can no longer be improved, even the developers say that it is impossible to improve X11 and can only fix some bugs and that’s all. Wayland, on the other hand, is promising. While it is true that it works worse with Nvidia, I have been able to test it with AMD-based components and I can assure that there is much less latency and more fluidity in any task in GNOME.

Yeah, and one of the things I like Linux is the fact that it can use new technology that’s better suited for modern use compared to other systems like windows which are largely stuck in the past. I understand preferring to continue using older software too, one of the great things about Linux is that you can do that, but going so far as to shit on developers, hindering progress, spreading misinformation, and just straight up lying is completely unreasonable.

Sums up the userbase there, aside from very rare gems. But that is how fleet of birds also work, one dove too many crows.

worst part for me is that it enforces capitalist realism because it’s owned by a startup incubator. whenever a discussion of a social problem comes up the replies make me rage.

The userbase has problems even if you look past social problems. It is an edgier and more plain reddit, just lacking 4chan /pil/ tendencies.

Wayland clearly the way further, but i don’t think it’s quite ready to replace x11 we should support wayland or any hypothetical alternative to follows FOSS Standards.

I mean if there’s anything we should be shitting on, it’s systemd ;)
