This site was created because the OG site didn’t have SSL and the original site goes down often.

For those of you who don’t know the site it is an impressive archive of Marxist works from Marx to Mao based on the translations published in USSR and Chinese publishing houses.

Sorta related here, but is there a place to look at downloaded pdfs on Android that doesn’t take you to Google files? I’m using TOR but it still opens in the default Files app? Is there an alternative?

Okay I’m in that area but do I need a new app to open pdfs, to read. TOR just takes me to Files. For example I just downloaded Capital and in TOR it says it is the downloaded area, but when I touch it, it’s says something like “open in different app” and “you may lose privacy” then sends me to Files. Do I need, or is there, a substitute for Files for privacy purposes?

There’s an app called Secure PDF viewer that doesn’t need access to your storage. MuPDF viewer is a bare bones reader but I’ve had problems opening heavy PDF files.

An app like Librera Reader Pro (from f-droid) or ReadEra (from Google Store) requires access to your files but you can use them like a virtual library. Display information, create collections, delete them, etc. You can even exclude folders if you need to.

It’s one of the best sites I’ve ever seen on Marxist archiving and it’s sparsely been updated since the early 2000’s.

MIA has an impressive volume but don’t can’t hold a candle to this guy’s quality control.
