since yewtu.be shut off downloading, go to invidious.osi.kr
Yeah, the whole trend of selling a game’s OST as DLC for the game has always felt shit. You’re already buying access to the music by buying the game. Locking said access behind “get to the point in the game where the music is meant to play” is pretty much just DRM.
If you have the game installed you should be able to just go into its files and grab the audio files.
But also just use youtube-dl/yt-dlp instead of invidious.
Undertale OST, for instance, is not only available on Steam as DLC. It’s on pretty much on all the mainstream streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, which gives you the option to download them AND store them as .mp3/FLAC files upon purchase. Replayable and transferable to any device, no platform lock-in.
That being said, the platforms, other than Bandcamp, that its on would prolly constitute as “DRM” despite it being free, e.g. YouTube.
Just an aside, but it kind of irks me that the official soundtrack doesn’t include Hopes and Dreams, which happens to be one of my favorite tracks from the game, which plays at the last boss fight in one of the endings. Why exclude that one track? Everything else seems to be included. I’d gladly pay for it, because I really like Bandcamp as a platform.
I haven’t bought the OST from Bandcamp yet but I think it is actually part of the official OST.
Ah, well spotted. Still, it would be nice if Bancamp could show what those 77 hidden tracks are.
umm yes it does
Well I meant selling the music separate in general. Like I said if I buy the game I should just be able to go into the game’s files and grab the audio there.
Ytdl is more buggy tho
Oh no, I appear to have droped a zip with the entire undertal OST…
I sure hope nobody will download it, that’d be forbidden.
