It’s a hoax/transphobic rumor, allegedly from various unsubstantiated reports of schools keeping cat litter or litter boxes. The only case of this actually happening is keeping cat litter on hand to clean up large spills as an absorbant (specifically, it’d be used for cleaning up hazardous spills, like a chemical or blood.)

Almost all janitors everywhere in the world will have cat litter on hand.
It’s inexpensive, comes in bulk, can be found at every store, and is extremely useful.

Currently following a queer mom on TikTok who is convinced that therian accounts are being artificially boosted among kids right now as a right wing op to conflate transgender kids with therian kids to make both less palatable to the general public and manufacture a moral panic.
The only unusual evidence she has so far is that she’s already gained several hundred followers on a fresh account just by lurking on therian stuff. It doesn’t prove any of the stuff she’s saying but it does suggest there’s some follow circles and botting happening.
I dunno it’s just fun to watch people go down a rabbit hole sometimes even if it’s really out there. I actually have a kid who says they’re a therian and am just kinda going with it. Getting them a mask to decorate and stuff. Apparently they’re not the only one in their class. It does seem to be on the rise regardless of it being natural growth or not.
