Personally I think not having karma limits is nice currently! I understand why they were used but grinding karma as a lurker on reddit was frustrating.

      What actions on reddit needed karma? I don’t recall ever being limited by my karma.

        There are some subreddits that limit posts or comments based on your karma. It’s an attempt to reduce spam from bot accounts.

          There were a few b/s subreddits that had like a minimum purchase requirement to even sell shit. My friend had a $500 knife he wanted to sell, but since he hadn’t bought enough shit on the knife sale subreddit he wasn’t allowed to sell anything. There was another subreddit I belonged to a few hobbies abo that was the same way, but I don’t remember which one it was, but I’m sure there were plenty of other subreddits that did that.
