    This. It’s the most-used mobile phone os, and now in Windows you and install WSL2 with a click and run any Linux app, including X apps.

      Well I’ve been using Linux as my main desktop OS for so long I don’t even remember when it was not a seamless out-of-the-box experience. Like, 15 years ago?

        again, different distro will work differently. I had no problem getting Debian up and running a few times, but I failed at Fedora and had trouble with the special installers needed on a few tiny distros (DebainDog and antiX). It doesn’t help that many linux websites seem to hide or forget the date, so the info you read to help you figure out things might be 10 or 15 years old, but you think it is up-to-date. I mean, surely, the author would remove info from the web that is no longer relevant -nope.
