again, different distro will work differently. I had no problem getting Debian up and running a few times, but I failed at Fedora and had trouble with the special installers needed on a few tiny distros (DebainDog and antiX).
It doesn’t help that many linux websites seem to hide or forget the date, so the info you read to help you figure out things might be 10 or 15 years old, but you think it is up-to-date. I mean, surely, the author would remove info from the web that is no longer relevant -nope.
