Apologies if this is the wrong community for this question, but I have a feeling my phone is about to die and I need a new one. I was hoping my current would last until either the Pinephone or Librem 5 were in a usable state, but as it stands it looks like I will have to wait a bit longer. So in the interim, Android it is.
Is there a cheapo Android phone out there that doesn’t make you jump through too many hoops to install a custom ROM? All I need is a device that I can run F-Droid on without gapps installed.
Convenient as that is, I think I’ll go with the OnePlus option you mentioned instead. The refurbished phones are a bit outside my price range and I like to flash ROMs myself. I find it fun.
