Question of the week:
What TV shows are you anticipating in 2023?
I watched The Battle of Lake Changjin.
Should I watch The Battle of Lake Changjin II?
Go for it. I’d say it’s not quite as good as the first one, but it wraps up the story well.
Ah.
Alright. Tbh, I didn’t like the first one that much, but I might as well complete the duology.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

I started watching “in the name of the people” on youtube, but I’ve been too busy with other things to watch much since the last time this came up
What is In the Name of the People?
What is it about? A TV show or movie?
Chinese?
It’s a tv show about the anticorruptiom bureau. It’s on youtube
In China?
Yeah it’s a Chinese show
Got it.
I plan to watch Puss in Boots 2 as well.
Puss in Boots was such a pleasant surprise.
Yeah, the first one wasn’t that good, from what I heard.
Did you watch it yet
Nah.
I’m watching the hell out of anything Walking Dead. On Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead, and cringe culture + fan backlash had me convinced the sister series’ both eventually “got bad”. Perhaps it’s because of the luxury of being able to stream whenever I want so I don’t have to wait a week or two just to be greeted by a “filler episode”, but hot damn are these shows amazing imo. There are times when I wonder if there are comrades on the writing teams. All of the motifs and themes kick ass. As for future TV shows, The Walking Dead: Dead City is dropping in June, and I don’t have to reiterate that I’m pumped for it.
Oh, also when I need to unwind I’ve been watching early Simpsons. Prime example of a show that “got bad”, it was wonderful and hilarious in its earlier seasons.
I hated the first one after a while, but I hear the supplementary shows are fine.
Watched The Last of Us recently, and really enjoyed it. Probably the first genuinely good series based on a video game. Also love that the communists are the one successful community in the show.
Currently watching Three Body Problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HJVhC80vIE It sticks pretty closely to the book so far.
Really looking forward to seeing Wandering Earth 2. Haven’t check if there are any shows coming out though.
And I’ve got Netflix for a streaming service.

I can tell you’re a big Trek fan.
am , is the only sci-fi that I like a lot even though some moments are not good and how. I don’t have much free time I kind of just watch the new star trek a is on
Gotcha.
Finished Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, now watching The Mandalorian season 3
How far are you?
Are you watching The Bad Batch as well?
I finished 4th episode.
I didn’t watch it, but I watched Andor.
Andor is great!
I am currently watching season 6 of The Expanse.
Pashang!
I don’t speak Belter
Would you recommend the show more or the books?
I haven’t read the books so i can’t say anything about whether the books or the show are better
Understood.
Cells at Work, I wanted to finish Revenge of the Sith but my little brother said no.
Have you watched Revenge of the Sith before?
It’s my favorite Star Wars movie.
Part of it, but haven’t had any time to watch it recently lmao.
Understood.
I finished that dumbass series about the Branch Davidians. Waco: American Apocalypse. It was so bad lmao
TV series?
It was like a 3 episode mini series
kewl
Rewatched the movie Phase IV, I would love to see a series about some random ant colony just evolving intelligence ultra fast and how would the world react to it.
Also watching Extrapolations
Extrapolations?
Is a science fiction show about climate change its on apple tv I think or you can go to the high seas, i’m watching it here: https://www2.watchserieshd.stream/series/extrapolations-2023/
Would you recommend?
Yes, is definitely entertaining and tackles some interesting topics (like ecoterrorism), but don’t expect bleak stuff like Threads (I was expecting that and was a little disappointed)
Right, got it.
Been on an old Soviet movie kick lately. Watched “Earth”, “The Cranes are Flying”, “Office Romance”, and “Operation Y and Shurik’s other Adventures”. They are all good though the first was a little boring at times as it’s silent. Gonna watch this one this weekend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brother_(1997_film)
Where are you watching them?
Mostly youtube, but you can find bluray rips on pirate bay
Gotcha…
