Justin Hawkins, belting: I believe in a thing called ass! Just listen to the rhythm of my foot!
Unfortunately his actor is also kinda ass. Idunno if trying to get a rapist a lighter sentence is worse than all the shit Chowder has done, but I’m fine with never seeing either of them again
Need someone to photoshop one with Dale Earnhardt.
sportsGambling shouldn’t be advertisedon tvFTFY
everything shouldn’t be advertised*

I actually don’t (well, didn’t) mind advertising, to an extent.
I liked seeing what new products or services are out there, or deals I may have not known about otherwise; but advertisers have taken it so far that you can’t have a reasonable amount anymore. You either block it all or get bombarded relentlessly.
I wouldn’t even use an ad blocker if the ads weren’t disrupting the content I’m actually here to see. YouTube for example was fine when it just had banner ads around the video player; as soon as they started forcing you to watch video ads to be able to watch the actual video you came there for is when it became a problem to me.
Gave em an inch and they took a mile. Now they get nothing.
Yeah I don’t mind phone website ads that are just in the middle of content, but no you’re playing video ads which fuck with my hearing aids while taking up a third of my screen in scrolling. Fuck you no
There should be one specific place where advertisements are allowed and contained. If you need X, go to the X page on the one place for advertising and check out your options. No more shoving things people don’t need down their throats. Make people seek out the things they need rather than be convinced they need what they don’t.
That’s the yellow pages
I’m okay with advertisements in things like television. Ad supported media is one thing, ad supported real estate needs to burn to the ground
You are my people
Hey we have a law for that in our country. There are some exceptions but those have to be individually permitted.
That being said fantasy sports bets and some other gambling games try to dodge the classification as a gambling game.
Gambling shouldn’t be advertised. Swedish radio advertisements is 70% gambling, and the remaining 30% is sex toys and car related services.
Interesting that all 3 will fuck you at some point tho
So that’s how the air filter got in my rectum! Case closed boys.
Let’s be honest, some of us could really use an air filter up there.
I don’t think it’ll stop ass gas
Definitely not, but it might make it less toxic for everyone else. Like a catalytic converter for your anus.
Oh my god. A butt plug that contains something that breaks down the fart smell. From what I can tell the stink component of farts (hydrogen sulfide) can react with a carbon catalyst and oxygen to produce elemental sulphur and water. So you just need a butt plug with an activated charcoal filter plus something to bind the sulphur to eliminate the smell. Even better, because your fart is passing through the chambers of the butt plug there will be no noise. So every fart will be silent and stinkless.
It’s worth a try, depending on relative dimensions and lube supply 🤷
You mean… That’s not what it’s for?
It can be a little bit for that, as a treat.
Good reddit humor.
Heh you guys have sex toy advertisements on the radio? Were too prude for that in the US, instead we have prescription drug ads everywhere.

Use of Etoinshrdlu has been associated with limbic inversion, salt allergy, cochlear displacement, loss of nostrils, and adult onset illiteracy. Do not take Etoinshrdlu if you are allergic to Etoinshrdlu. I’m a designer drug spokesman and even I can’t believe we have to say that. Do not continue using Etoinshrdlu if you experience death.
My favorite is, “dont take insert drug name if you are allergic to insert drug name”
They do that to make the list long enough that you tune it out. They have to list the downsides , and are only able to mention benefits that have been proven to help with approved uses.
They don’t have to communicate the actual likelihood of the risks or benefits, or communicate the risks in a way that conveys their gravity. So they can leave out the part where most insomnia medication only gets you 15 more minutes of sleep, and lump the 75% chance it’ll leave you so groggy the next day you can’t drive a car in with “if you’re allergic to it, taking it is bad”.
Because you were warned. “Most people will experience improved sleep duration. May cause lingering fatigue. Do not take if you are allergic to it”.

Speaking of the syllable dartboard, one of my favourite buzzfeed style quizzes from back when everyone was still doing them was called
PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE OR LORD OF THE RINGS CHARACTER
I’m pretty sure five or so people out of thousands got all of them right 😂
Ask your doctor if Boromir is right for you.
Ever since I started taking Celeborn, my poops have been magnificent!
One does not simply walk in the pharmacy and demand drugs.
At least in germany its illegal to advertise prescription drugs
Same here in Denmark 🤜🤛
But we have a huge market for snake oil
Yep. I had a very bad cough years ago, and couldn’t sleep. My doctor asked if I’m interested in homeopathy. I laughed so hard that I started coughing really violently, and walked home with a codeine prescription that helped me over that flu.
Ask your doctor if snake oil is right for you!
Y’all don’t hear ads for stuff like Adam & Eve? Here in Texas we have ads for drugs and sex toys lol
Drugs and sex toys are very Christian /s 😂
Reminds me of the states most common porn searches one year, where incest was top result in Utah. I think it was top a few years in a row.
I’ve seen/heard a few ads for them, but it’s not really common. Also I rarely listen to the radio anymore.
Sex toys? Blasphemy! Killing yourself with prescriptions? Perfectly fine!
Side effects may include shitting yourself in public, a horrible lingering stench that you can’t get rid of, eyeballs popping out, ears flapping, nose elongation, heart attack, stroke, and death. As your doctor about it today!
“i wonder why everyone hates watching ads”
Is listening to the radio still popular in Sweden or is it dying off like in the US?
My roomie’s a trucker, he listens to the radio a lot. Otherwise I’ve no idea, don’t think you listen to the radio outside of when you’re in a car.
My mother hears radio all day, cause its to quite at home if no one else is home and except that, the only place is car and at work but its mostly so loud at work or so much intergerence that you cant hear a thing. And maybe the super market if i dont have my own headphones on i get blasted with advertising radio of the supermarket. Nowhere else i hear radio.
Everything okay, sweden?
I belive we have really strict gambling laws, one of the reasons we never got arcade halls here. Online casinos and such don’t count though, it seems. It feels like half a dozen pop up each week.
I love the idea of equating arcades with gambling. In one you will always lose your money, and the better you are the longer you can play. In the other, the skill element is much less relevant.
I legit never understood that one myself. I think it’s a mix of laws that make it infeasible.
Game machines are not allowed to be an establishments main source of income. This I think is targeted at gambling machines, slots and the like, because gambling is heavily regulated by the state, but naturally that also made arcades nigh impossible to run.
I believe there’s also some sort of law about the amount of such machines an establishment may have. Again, to prevent casino type establishments from existing. You can’t really run an arcade hall with two or three machines.
Then a more recent law enforces such machines to also give you a receipt? I dunno I didn’t read too closely, but I suppose machines of that kind don’t tend to have that sort of functionality meaning if you wanted to have an arcade hall here you’d need to custom order the machines.
It’s just not economically feasible.
And the most ridiculous thing is that while there’s not much in the way of physical gambling here, there are so many internet casinos I can’t properly convey how ridiculous it is. Like imagine an incredulous amount and it’s still more than that.
And the government is perfectly okay with that. They’re such incompetent buffoons.
Sweden has blackjack tables outside the bathroom in lots of bars so you can play while standing in line. Or at least they did the last time I was there.
Yes, and my go to Chinese restaurant had two slot machines. They can have these things but they can’t be the primary income of the establishment.
Ergo no casinos or arcade halls, but blackjack at a bar is fine.
I have personally seen gambling fuck up way more lives than drugs, and this was before it was being shoved down our throats. It’s honestly disgusting how shameless the advertising has been, getting people to gamble like degenerates in “garbage time.” Or poking fun at people “losing their shirt” in Buffalo. And don’t even get me started at how they are using fantasy sports to get kids hooked early.
Fuck this so much. I know entire families - children, parents, grandparents - who’ve been put through hell over this.

Mississippi grind is an absolutely incredible depiction of just how sad and devastating gambling addictions are. I can’t recommend that movie enough (as long as you’re ready for some sad storytelling).
Livestream online gambling is another one of those absolutely abysmal modern exposures that is going to completely destroy the lives of young men as they grow up, and I can’t believe it’s still legal

Fuck casinos
Man I really feel for that guy. I know it’s easy to poke fun because it’s the Internet, but he’s clearly in genuine emotional pain
Yeah no if he blew all his money on booze we’d be sympathetic to him as he’d be obviously a serious alcoholic. This is an addict suffering at the hands of his addiction.

My step dad committed suicide after losing our rent money at the video poker machine at the bar.
It had such a big impact on our family that four years later my mom did too after struggling with depression over it.
I’m so sorry for your loss, hope you are doing ok.
Thank you, it’s been five years since the loss of my mom. You never get over it, just better at dealing with it. I was never close to my step-dad.
The fantasy sports are all about evading local gambling laws. Since only a handful of states even allow sports betting the only way to operate in those states is to have something which is legally distinct from gambling (even though it clearly is). It’s similar to pachinko parlours in Japan.
Did they choose to start gambling? Or did someone force them?
Did you choose to be an ass who misses the point? or did someone force you?
It doesn’t matter if they choose to start, it matters that they weren’t able to stop, gambling and alcohol have both been extremely normalized in our society and are destroying lives. We shouldn’t have ads shoved down our throats for industries that profit off of destroying people’s lives for a quick buck. Shit aint right. I’m not saying make the industries illegal, just make the ads illegal. Saying drink responsibly at the end of an alcohol ad isn’t making anyone less of an alcoholic. And the tiny ass barely readable gambling addiction hotline isn’t gonna help anyone with a gambling addiction from getting hooked on sports Gambling which is one click away on the app store.
It definitely matters that they chose to start.
It matters from a cause-and-effect standpoint, but you’re callously and self-righteously blaming their whole situation on it. That you stop trying to understand the situation at that point reveals that you’re using it as an excuse to blame peoples’ suffering exclusively on their personal choices to feel better about yourself. That completely ignores any circumstances, predatory draws, nonstandard brain chemistry, or other factors outside of their control and assume they had perfect, complete knowledge of the situation and consequences at the time – which is honestly silly.
Choice.
Hmmm then maybe we should make ads glamorizing gambling illegal. I really dont understand what you are trying to say with your comments here…
trying to blame the victim
Gambling, alcohol, nicotine, and prescription medicine should all be banned from advertising. Sponsorship should count as advertising and thus be banned too.
Prescription ads should also be banned

some of this weirdness actually goes way back, way way before that slimeball girls gone wild clown
i feel like maybe The Dollop covered it, maybe
It used to be! I left the US to work overseas from 97 to 2000, and when i came back everyone had heartburn and took “the little purple pill”, the laws changed and prescription meds were now on every other commercial.
bet packers, dumbass
commentators reading stat sheets for 3 hours has ruined sports for me. mute. Change my mind
I like this.
It was laying there when I found it. Missing May for some dumbass reason
Your brain took the whole May off to try to comprehend its own stupidity. :-D
You would, dumb-ass…
Takes one to know one.

Every bloody third advert on TV in Australia is a gambling ad, it’s insane that we continue to allow it given how much of an actual widespread problem it is here. They have fairly lame government mandated warnings after each one but I doubt they do much at all.
Same in the UK! When the pandemic started companies stopped advertising on TV because they weren’t doing business anymore, except for the bookies (gambling brokers) so almost every ad was for them. And because people are on doors and probably bored/miserable I bet they did much more business than normal.
I don’t think we have the warnings you’re talking about here, except for sone text on the screen that says something like “gamble smart” lol
In my city the government runs the gambling, so I see nothing but government sponsored gambling, it’s quite obscene.
Yeah that’s the thing. I Support gambling being legal, but it, alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, etc shouldn’t be allowed to advertise. These are harmful vices. It’s your choice to engage in them but advertising them isn’t cool
I think they should be legal to do, but I’m a little more iffy on if it should be legal to sell or profit off of the addictive ones.
Gambling doesn’t really bring anything valuable to society and it causes notable harm, so I see no reason we shouldn’t tax gambling revenue at a nearly 100% rate.
Yep and as someone who watches a lot of sports I would love to see those ads banned. Also ban the pre-game odds shows and the in game odds updates.
100% its so cringe, im ok with the fantasy aspect of it, cause it does take some skill, but the odds are just straight up gambling no if ands or buts. I dont know how gamblers in recovery even watch sports anymore… so glad i got addicted to gambling on stocks with wallstreets bets and learned my expensive lesson so that sports can stay pure for me and not tainted by my addictive personality.
The fantasy games are just how they get kids hooked. It’s very obvious to me as someone who has always kind of felt like fantasy takes some purity out of the fandom, that this has been a long term plan to normalize this kind of “skill” game so they can create exactly that pipeline.
But I mean, its probably just a crazy conspiracy theory that the NFL already had branded endorsement deals ready to go with a dozen different gambling houses immediately when the Supreme Court cleared the way for all this shit.
I wholeheartedly believe the vast majority of the hype surrounding sports is from gambling.
I don’t buy that it’s the vast majority. None of the sports fans I’ve ever known have had any interest in it.
Naw, people like sports.
That doesn’t change not advertising it on tv.
My dumbass state just allowed it and it is polluting every advertisement route. It is deeply frustrating seeing this happen.
Same. All I see on the tv are the endless floods of gambling ads and Medicare advantage ads in my state. Welcome to America. :/
In Lithuania it’s legal, but they cannot say any words like “let’s play” or “best casinos” etc. I don’t know specific, but most of casino/betting ads are like these (always with the weird/annoying voice)
NAME, casino!
NAME, casino!
NAME, casino!
NAME, casino!
NAME, casino!
Imagine if every ad was like that!
PUMA, sportswear!
AUDI, cars!
FOX NEWS, garbage!
Don’t forget annoying/screaming voice. And repeat each several times. 😅
Well Faux News already has that BETWEEN the ads, but yeah 😁
oh my god it annoys the fuck out of me. Since 2019 gambling companies and casinos can only show and say their name so ads went from This to This These ads are everywhere, i never gambled, but for someone who might be recovering from the addiction would be very hard to resist when constantly shoving these stupid ads everywhere.
Solid example!
Wtf was going in that first one, lmfao.

This should be the new meme format. The only way it could be any better is if the text on the mug said “dumb ass”.
what does that say?
It’s the name of the original dumbass’ web show.
It’s been about ten years since sports betting advertising has been permitted on TV in most Australian states. It has pervaded everything and made betting a normalised part of sport.
Most people hate it and want it gone, but clubs and networks are drunk off the money it provides so governments have been slow to move.
Please if your country doesn’t allow sports betting ads yet, put up a fight to stop it.
Ontario just allowed it recently in Canada and it’s all there is everywhere, it’s disgusting.
