You should definitely not go to http://libgen.rs/ because…y’know publishers NEED those profits to survive, obviously.
YOU WOULDN’T DOWNLOAD A CAR
Joke’s on you. I absolutely would.
Reminds me of this gem: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=ALZZx1xmAzg&

I will even download 3d printer NFT and post it on Lemmygrad just to spite capitalists (and Lemmy libs)
Pirate it and then see if the author has a direct donation link or tip jar on their website. Way more effective at supporting actual creators than going through the publisher, who takes like 90% of the revenue.
Inventing Reality is better than Manufacturing Consent. Going through Inventing Reality available as 8 hour audio form on youtube for free, already watched Chomsky’s work a couple years ago. Manufacturing Consent is far more condensed, but if reading summary was same as reading full theory, you would have PhDs on reddit.
I’d say just hit up libgen. I really want a copy of Inventing Reality so I can force friends/family to read it, but I’ve been unable to find a copy anywhere at a reasonable price.
I want my dad to read them so that’s why I want to buy em
Just get one of them in that case. MC might be easier to convince him to read if he’s ultra-liberal since Chomsky (who apparently didn’t even write that much of the book) is anticommunist, but IR is probably better in general since it’s Parenti
okay I’ll just get inventing reality
I have a copy i would be willing to send you for free…not sure if theres a messaging feature on here but if you want it we can figure out a way to exchange addresses
(just joking comrade)
Thank you comrade I really appreciate the offer but it is all good. I’m in Canada so it would likely end up being costly to ship anyway. Amazon has it here for ~$35 CAD which isn’t toooooo bad I’ll get a copy eventually but thank you!!
This is great satire, but after reading into the RIAA I started to question whether it was real. Utterly vile beings.

You could see which copy is cheaper? Or refer your dad first to Parenti’s talk on the Make Believe Media, ‘Rambo and the Swarthy Hordes’. https://youtu.be/S33DKRcqvkQ. The book is similar to IR, but on entertainment media rather than news media.
I listened to the free audiobook for manufacturing consent, and I intend to buy a copy of inventing reality.
