I figured since the situation is still ongoing, a megathread may be easier to follow.

Some general info to know:
- the conflict erupted in the evening of May 11 (local time) as Israel was moving settlers into the town of Sheik Jarrah AND moving worshippers from the Al-Aqsa mosque, the third most important mosque to Islam, on the second to last day of Ramadan. Protests erupted and the IDF was sent in to stop them and disperse the crowd, and violence ensued.
- In retaliation, several Muslim countries and groups came in support of Palestine, and Palestinian militaries (Hamas and Jihad) started launching rockets at military and industrial targets in Israel.
- The situation has been ongoing since then and has escalated. Israel has launched missiles to Gaza in retaliation, hitting civilian targets (however the buildings seemed empty).
- As of 5pm today (local time), 56 Palestinian civilians died at the hands of the Israeli strikes, including 14 children. A couple civilian deaths were recorded in Israel in the same timeframe.
- Israel has an aerial defence system called the iron dome that basically launches missiles as soon as it detects a rocket to collide in mid-air. That system costs 50k-100k$ per rocket intercepted, while Hamas rockets cost 400$ to produce. It seems to be a matter of who has the biggest stockpile and who will run out first. Clearly the system is overwhelmed as there are many videos of Gaza rockets hitting their target.
- Clashes are erupting in Israeli territory against Arabs (even if they are citizens) and Palestinians. Nationalist Israeli groups are going around targeting people and their shops.
Update on casualties: 181 Palestinians killed, including 52 children and 31 women, 1225 wounded so far.
Israeli airforce is attacking the Gaza Strip, including the HQ of the internal security forces for Gaza.
These same security forces managed to arrest 4 spies in Gaza.
My telegram channel also said a Hamas spokesman would make a statement but have not published the statement itself.
We’re talking about the situation on a Discord now and Hamas has just launched their 7th barrage on Israel, hitting here:
And they are preparing their 8th barrage. The Iron Dome, Israel’s aerial defence system, is saturated and very expensive – it costs 50-100k to launch a missile at an enemy rocket (and sometimes they launch two for one target), while Hamas rockets cost 400$ to produce. It is not able to deal with the onslaught.
Iraqi Resistance forces have also announced their readiness to join the fight with Palestine if they are called to help, and it seems Turkey is moving troops towards the border but we don’t know more yet.
Israel has moved tanks into Gaza and Hamas has deployed anti-tank brigades to meet them.
Remember that all this time Hamas has been targetting military infrastructure and industry, while Israel is targetting civilian buildings. If you saw the video of the appartment building they blew up (which I think was empty), then realize they just made 100 families homeless.
Thanks for the info! Where is the map from? I’m curious to find more sources on whats happening. Might also be worth creating a /c/palestine community.
Edit: it’s from this account https://twitter.com/CumtaAlertsEng, I’ll see if I can find the interactive map too.
Looking at the tweets Israel has been hit by missiles nonstop for at least 2 hours now, and they’re not stopping. This also forces civilian airplanes to stay on the ground.
I have also found this tweet https://twitter.com/disclosetv/status/1392457037129334786, but we don’t know how trustful it is.
Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades issues new ultimatum to Israel: Withdraw from #AlAqsaMosque and #SheikhJarrah or “100 times” more rockets will be fired at 6pm towards new targets.
It’s currently 4:20PM in Israel so we’ll see in less than two hours.
Israelis just murdered a Palestinian man driving through Tel Aviv. They took him out of his car and beat on him. Not sure about his status but the outcome doesn’t look good – my telegram news channel posted a video and you can see him unresponsive on the ground, getting kicked in the head.
Hamas saying they were just emptying their obsolete weapons and the enemy has not yet seen their true capabilities
Some news since my last update:
- IDF soldier posted a video on instagram of detained Palestinian kids (all look around 16), blindfolded and handcuffed with one wearing what looks like a hood over his head (the soldier rotates around the room to show the detainees and then suddenly jerks back out of frame when he reaches the hooded kid so it’s hard to tell, and it’s also highly suspicious) with the caption “for sale” and you can hear them say “today only: 2 for 100, 3 for 75”. Israel is a disgusting fascist country.
- The spokesman for Al-Qasam moved his public address to Thursday afternoon, so very soon from now.
- More rockets were fired into Tel-Aviv during the night, with a few videos of them hitting. Not sure about the tally. Edit: IDF is saying more than 1000 rockets were fired since the start.
Sorry I can’t post the videos but it’s too complicated to grab them from Telegram and reupload them for Lemmygrad.

Palestinian resistance just published a video of their “offensive galleries” – seems they’ve been digging tunnels to go under the occupied territory. The channel I got this video from isn’t very clear about it. However expect to have more info about this soon; we know Hamas keeps their promises.
At least 20 Israeli settlers hurt during retaliation strike from the Palestinian resistance this evening, in the occupied town of Ashkelon. This was at least one hour ago, when the sun was setting.
⚠️For the first time in history, Palestinian resistance is launching kamikaze drones. IDF is urging all Israeli settlers near Gaza to go into a bunker and not leave until further notice.
Video of the drones being launched: https://mega.nz/file/3igFUC5Y#4aaeOCSGNSsuey7y7MBjCDpft1zBwT1zMrkP_OI6PDc. I’m gonna start uploading important videos to my mega account as it supports streaming.
I’m going to start prefacing the important stuff with the warning sign emoji.
Very promising, Azerbaijan has shown how effective these drones can be. Soon we will see how effective Israeli countermeasures are against them.
Also, could you share a link to the telegram channel you mentioned, assuming that it is public?
It’s a public news channel but it’s in French. https://t.me/GazaNewsPlus.
They shared a video of an IDF jet destroying one of those, I don’t yet have news on how many targets they’ve hit.
16 AL-QUASAM COMMANDERS JUST DIED, though the actual number is unconfirmed.
The Israeli Internal Security Service (Shabaka) obtained information about meetings in two underground locations of the headquarters of Muhammed Deif (the Supreme Leader of the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades) in real time and targeted the locations simultaneously
Palestine is launching the barrage at 9PM like they said they would, it’s unfolding as we speak. It’s said to be their largest barrage yet. Will edit once we have more info.
Al-Quds has called for a “red night” and urges all Palestinians to go on their roofs to see it.
Edit: it’s starting and it’s fast: https://twitter.com/CumtaAlertsEng/status/1392540830632644616
Second salvo: https://twitter.com/CumtaAlertsEng/status/1392541896048787459
Check the replies to this tweet as the hits unfold. However I think this page shows danger zones, as the name implies, and not confirmed hits.
Hamas brigades now targetting military airbases from which the IDF has been sending planes to bomb Gaza today.
And a funny video to lighten the mood: https://gofile.io/d/pdeBp9
Watch as IDF soldiers run away screaming as soon as the rocket sirens go off.
You have to remember most of these soldiers are conscripts. They may be nationalists and looking to kill Palestinians, but they realize as soon as they see actual combat that this isn’t Call of Duty.
Meanwhile Palestinians have lived like it was their last day on earth for decades now. They don’t have the luxury of having missile shelters – they rely on the benevolence of the settlers to tell them when they are going to strike.
⚠⚠Protests have erupted in the West Bank, with civilians moving closer to the border with Israel. Skirmishes have erupted in the village of Nil’lin in the West Bank.
In Lebanon, protesters have penetrated into Israel and the IDF is trying to push them back. Lebanese army has been deployed to keep the protesters on their side of the border.
Statement from Abu Obeyda, spokesperson for Hamas:
Any ground incursion into any area of the Gaza Strip, God willing, will be an opportunity to increase our yield of the enemy’s dead and prisoners, and we are ready to teach very hard lessons with God’s help
As I had thought the big strike (I posted the map in the long comment 10m ago) was in retaliation for the strike, as well as the murder of several commanders of the Al-Qassam brigade. The telegram channel I follow confirmed it. The channel says this was a first response to the murder of the commanders, so expect more rockets – 130 so far for this strike and around 1000 since it started.
