She’s also making really based point in the statement she made, where she says that the current world is a result of centuries of colonialism, imperialism and oppression of people and planet.

She further says that we should not aim to go back to ‘normal’ since normal is an extreme system with the sole purpose of reaching max profits on a short term basis, disregarding human rights.

It seems she’s not just the talk anymore and actually switch to socialist rhetoric.

Dear comrade, I am a Mexican communist (Marxist-Leninist, not “commie”), who currently continues to live in Mexico, specifically in the misnamed “hot zone” territory that is heavily disputed by cartels. I am an environmental engineer, with studies and knowledge in software development; constantly confronting governments and armed groups for defending our rights to a more just and ecologically sustainable society, they literally slaughter us. I not only criticize society, I fight to change it, and any of the comrades here are welcome.

Within the lemmygrad community I am an active collaborator of prolewiki in Spanish.

For those downvote, it’s obvious it is a fake picture. What matters is the message it conveys.

do you understand the meaning of meme? mmm…

People have food, others do not. How is that Greta’s personal responsibility?

Should we all die of hunger in solidarity?

Isn’t the problem imperialism? That we keep those countries poor and in a state of chaos to better exploit their very profitable natural resources?

More than anything, it is the representation of eco-capitalism made in the West that has turned this girl into a meme.

God, you’re taking the picture too literally.

So in an imperialist ecoterrorist society, a neurodivergent teenage girl who speaks out against the destruction of the environment and points the finger at the imperialist exploitation perpetrated by the Global North should be mocked by leftists and alt-right climate deniers alike? What are you trying to say here?

Precisely the trivialization of these struggles.

The trivialization of what struggles? You’re not clarifying your stance at all, you’re just making fun of some girl. (with the same rhetoric the right wing uses to trivialize climate crisis activism)
