oh yes, but has there been any recent news about the client for lg tv os?

whenever i checked for updates it has always been that it’s forever stuck in testing stage because of lg’s ridiculous requirements for their tv app store and their anti open-source stance or whatever…

there is an open GitHub issue that relates to the LG TV client release , it seems to suggest that the only thing they were waiting for ,was the release of 10.7.0 . I’m not sure if they managed to meet LG’s requirements and so managed to get around any issues that were preventing them publishing to the store .

I updated this morning and it’s been great. The RC period was long but it looks like it really paid off.

I recall them announcing somewhere that what would have been an actual major release in the past, will now simply be released as a RC first to catch more bugs before making everyone install it

It went well for me. I did get asked if I wanted to keep or replace my config file (default was keep). But you need to replace with the one from the repo.

If you went with the default option then you may need to replace it manually.

Yep, no issues for me… I think because I tried to a beta upgrade a while back. Everything’s running really smoothly tho now.
