Why is there such contempt toward transit? This isn’t some hippie new-aged ‘hurr durr busses are just big cars and trains are just cars on tracks and all motorised travel dims your spirit energy’ thing is it? If you want to ban cars, you need transit. In a scale any larger than a small village, you cannot walk or bike everywhere, and there are people who aren’t physically capable of walking or biking that still deserve to get to places.

I looked through the community, and only things related to mass transit have one or two downs. If they’re offended, they’re offended by transit specifically, which is really dumb because it’s the only scalable alternative to cars.
I have seen a lot of ‘new age’ people who are against cars, but they actually mean they’re against literally anything not involving walking on your bare feet with an herb packet and healing crystal on your face. And they’re always super pretentious about it, and weirdly, super mean and toxic to anyone who disagrees with them despite their entire ideology being about meditation and going with the flow. These types of people also tend to be antivaxxers.
At first I was a bit confused but reading this comment, yes, I know exactly what you’re talking about. And it drives me crazy. In my experience it’s people who are really into crystals as well, and as you said, anti vax and really science in general.
