FB will never work. When you have single profile/persona, single global community moderated by single team of moderation using same rules for everybody it is impossible to find a “balance” between moderation and arbitration of truth. What you need is what Mastodon does: multiple personas, multiple communities and each community has their own moderators that moderate according to the community needs. But that would never be a viable business model for FB.

FB has grown too big, making it difficult to moderate when fake news and propaganda are churn out at a fast pace. The company should be just broken up.

Agreed. There’s no way to solve the global message board problem. I don’t think Facebook or any of the big platforms are trying to solve that anyways. Their goal is to maintain the status quo. The mob mentality has made them wealthy beyond anyones wildest dreams. They need the chaos to continue.

The sooner individuals realize that and internet responsibly the better because Facebook won’t be broken up any time soon. Tech has gotten to good at staying ahead of legislation.

And considering that they DO sort their feed algorithmically and they DO censor some people where it’s not required they don’t even follow their own statements

Yea, fact checkers can be biased and allow lies to be truth, and truth to be lies.
