Meanwhile a decision in the opposite direction has been made in Germany. In Germany physicians were not allowed to publicly advertise if they were offering abortions. Now the law preventing that has been abolished.

In my opinion this was well overdue. To be honest, I can’t quite fathom what’s going on in the US. Can anyone explain why the republicans are so hellbent on forcing women to have babies they do not want?

Capitalism demands an ever growing population of workers and consumers, a reserve army of labor. They have destroyed our living conditions over the years through wage cuts, soaring inflation, and austerity, and now they force people to have children to keep their inhumane and profit driven world running smoothly. US ruling class makes it hard to get abortions and contraception, and then provide no childcare or support afterwards. The working class are treated like human cattle whose only purpose is to make them money.

US has effectively legalized forced reproductive slavery. A woman can now be legally forced to carry a fetus to term, give birth, and raise the child. The state won’t pay for any of it, and the woman’s family including the child may be forced into poverty.

How is abandoning a live child not worse than terminating it before it even has a brain?

Nothing is technically forcing her to raise it. In some places you can take a baby and drop it off at a fire department until it is two months old.

            That’s literally abandoning the baby.

Either way I’d be happy to argue against abortion if there were social structures put in place to guarantee the child will be raised well, but there aren’t. We can’t even keep free school lunches funded by the federal gov, so what makes you think these children will be any better off if they are carried to term? Not to mention they’re being born into an ever increasing hellscape of a planet that will likely lead to mass famine and disease which isdominated by a tiny minority of billionaires that would rather see the world burn than give up their precious money.

As for the adoption argument, its an extremely long and involved process to get approved as adoptive parents. Not to mention everyone wants to adopt a baby not an adolescent child so if they are not adopted before ~2y its likely they will never be adopted and will have to live their childhood in foster homes and orphanages.

Allllso, a lot of these adoptions are handled by some religious org that will deny anyone if they dont subscribe to their one true religion.

Those older kids are often mentally ill because of the circumstances they were born into or abused in the fostor care system. Many of them would have definitely been better off not being born. Or even better, make it so the parents can see to the needs of the child without having to pay for child care without them stressing over paying for it, often times going into insane debt to raise the child.

Things that are happening as a direct result of capitalism are actually communism.

Welp… I knew this was coming sooner or later, but it’s still unwelcome. Now it falls to blue states to try to extend services to women in red states where we can. It’s still possible to cover many of the cases where a woman (or girl) is seeking an abortion.

I’m somewhat worried about same-sex marriage and gay sex. I can totally see some of the more conservative states wanting to push back on those. Maybe not so much contraception, that seems pretty well baked into our society that no legislature would pass a law banning access.

You’ve got the wrong guy. I have no love for the Russian government. And I’m perfectly willing to criticize governments (or political factions) based on their stances towards gay people, regardless of whether they otherwise align with me politically.

Reminds me of Poland today, it’s as if this has nothing to do with communism but the values places like Poland and Romania seem to hold.

I dont think anyone has described the KGB as ‘nice’.

Maybe you should stop writing off everything you disagree with as Russian propaganda and you might learn something.
