How is abandoning a live child not worse than terminating it before it even has a brain?

Nothing is technically forcing her to raise it. In some places you can take a baby and drop it off at a fire department until it is two months old.

          That’s literally abandoning the baby.

Either way I’d be happy to argue against abortion if there were social structures put in place to guarantee the child will be raised well, but there aren’t. We can’t even keep free school lunches funded by the federal gov, so what makes you think these children will be any better off if they are carried to term? Not to mention they’re being born into an ever increasing hellscape of a planet that will likely lead to mass famine and disease which isdominated by a tiny minority of billionaires that would rather see the world burn than give up their precious money.

As for the adoption argument, its an extremely long and involved process to get approved as adoptive parents. Not to mention everyone wants to adopt a baby not an adolescent child so if they are not adopted before ~2y its likely they will never be adopted and will have to live their childhood in foster homes and orphanages.

Allllso, a lot of these adoptions are handled by some religious org that will deny anyone if they dont subscribe to their one true religion.

Those older kids are often mentally ill because of the circumstances they were born into or abused in the fostor care system. Many of them would have definitely been better off not being born. Or even better, make it so the parents can see to the needs of the child without having to pay for child care without them stressing over paying for it, often times going into insane debt to raise the child.
