Banning encryption with the flag of fighting against crime, (protecting children in this case). The argument is not strong because after encryption gets banned for all non criminals. The criminals will compile their private software and STILL use strong encryption to communicate among themselves.
Can’t they see the natural outcome? To me this is a pretext only to spy on general population.
this is exactly the point that keeps getting brought up, but they’re not going to listen to any arguments that don’t support their position
YES!! 100% this, and IMO they know damn well this will be the case and in their real reasons for banning encryption, fighting serious crime probably isn’t even in the top five.
