This is peak liberalism. Thinking old papers have this magic property of shaping reality is the root of that mess that is capitalism

Even if they did have, City council of Kiev have no legal continuity to Yuri Dolgoruki.

If anything, it’s Russia through Muscovy that have the legal continuity with Kievan Rus, through Aleksandr Nevski (who was also great-grandson of Yuri), Daniel, first grand prince of Muscovy and Alexander’s son, and Ivan IV who unified Russia.

kievan rus’ was a country where russian people lived, it has nothing tied with modern day ukraine, except the fact that they own this land. ukranian language was invented in like 1600-1700 and they tell that russian people were invented after the ussr collapse and also they think that russian language was founded 1666. the ukranians literally have the worst history education

The fact that the Kyiv City Council bothered to say this is painfully cringe, mega cope, waste of time, go make yourself useful and throw yourself under Russian tank treads like Supremo Captain Ukraine Zelensky told you to.

Kievan Rus ------------------------> Kiev City Council

Might need to establish some historical and legal succession there, bud

Wait that’s not how any of that works. And ridiculousness aside(if that’s even possible lmao) why arrest everyone in that city? What if there are anti-Moscow Muscovites? Just because a region is not recognized by someone, doesn’t mean that you arrest them. If Moscow actually was part of Ukraine, then that still wouldn’t justify arrests. You go to sleep legally, you wake up and your crime is that you fell asleep in your city without warning that falling asleep would lead to your arrest. But you are Muscovite so no trial, go to jail bc YouCrane good

Yeah, I can already see the biggest city of Russia just pop out of existence because some weird morons decided to show everyone an old paper and scream out some weird lib spells. Eh.

Are they trying to make a “comeback” at the Russian politicians that petitioned the government to reconsider the legality of Lithuania’s existence?

Its such an mussolini move to get borders from more then a thousand years ago and say they where the “rightfull borders” and the ones there is right now must be remade to the old ones, by force if necessary. At least on the 30/40s people haved enough brains to call out this obviously stupid ass chauvinism.
