My wife and I live in an old house. Sometimes I hear a door creak open and footsteps above our bedroom. Above our bedroom is an attic only accessible via crawl-space. So no “neighbors” and no doors…
Related: There was a family of squirrels in my attic a while back, and the sound of them running around were terrifying before we figured out what was going on.
