As one person put it, “I’ll take ‘women reinforcing the patriarchy’ for 500, Alex.”
I don’t know if it is what you have heard, but I have seen a lot of feminists reapropiating slurs like “b1tch”, “wh0re” and so on and calling themselves like that in a positive manner, which if you would heard them without context, you might not tell. I think this is a far better tactic than trying to ban a word, since it is essentially what has been happening with words like “gay” and “queer”, only this happened long ago and people now have internalized that they never were insults.
I’m pretty sure the two phenomena, the one you describe and the one @straightpeach@lemmy.ml describes, both exist independently.
Of course, but they can be confused.

Yeah I know, I did not explicit it but you always need consent in that regard, although it is super uncommon with words like “gay” or “queer” nowadays.

Natural selection is good.
not for humans that can educate themselves
Unfortunately a rather astronomically disproportionate number of humans do not believe in objective education, instead opting for selfish and material biases and excuses.

You tell me, how many people actively want to stay fit and healthy instead of being overly fat or obese or anorexic?
Obesity statistics by country 2022: https://web.archive.org/web/20220430070150/https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/obesity-rates-by-country

It’s very difficult to stay healthy if you’re forced to work most of the day and can only afford cheap, extremely unhealthy food. I don’t think natural selection is a good thing for humanity at this point, since our intelligence is by far our most important feature (Einstein wasn’t exactly buff)
We reached here both by brain and brawn, so we need both. Intelligence and intellect does not mean we become stickmen.
I disagree. Making anorexic or obese people feel comfortable about their laziness or a bad eating trend follow is wrong, and affects the society. Calling bodyshaming bad is incredibly individualistic and very far from what a leftist should root for – society before individual selfishness.
I agree. While bodyshaming is indeed bad, most of what is classified as body shaming is not really bodyshaming.
People defend bad health habits that affects everyone around them, and when they are caught doing this, they deflect it onto an abstraction of “bodyshaming” word. I absolutely despise these wordsmith weasels.
Partially agreed. The “shaming” should be limited to people that are actively responsible for their condition. Not the one born with natural conditions like shortness, handicapped etc
Nobody sane will ever want to shame disabled or unfortunate people. I doubt anyone does it. However, the problem is that these junk food guzzlers purposely deflect all legitimate criticism onto an abstraction of the word. These people are so insane, they act proud regarding their obesity and carefree bingeing life. They must not be allowed to hide in the veil of disabled people.
Moreover, these people are sometimes even okay with getting thyroid and gastritis problems at early age, just for pleasure. This is not a culture or mindset that should be allowed to flourish for the sake of future generations, and all that is left of current ones.
I think your point is wrong, but also you know that this also factors in people who miss a leg, short men, manly looking women etc… Traits that people can’t change.
No, this does not factor physically handicapped or disabled people. It precisely factors the obese women who cannot stop eating their pizzas and Coke and ice cream tubs all day while watching Netflix, or brainwashed anorexic women who want to do webcam shows or modelling.
Go check out some mukbangers and see this acceptance BS culture yourself.
Edit: I seem to have defined these 4 downvoters’ lives, not sorry, stay mad
Unfortunately nobody cares about short men.
When people say “bodyshaming”, it’s almost always related to obesity.
is this the weird short man thing you’re being mad about? lmao
