I think they leaned a bit too far into villainizing Putin and not far enough into exposing US meddling (not that I think Putin should be lionized or anything). I mean a situation like this demands some sort of Russian military response and focusing on the character of Russia’s president distracts from this.

And even though Ukraine probably wasn’t going to be formally incorporated into NATO, they were already a de facto member like Sweden and Finland. Like they said: there are no rules. It’s ridiculous to imply that Americans care about the letter of the law when they already coup’d Ukraine and have been funding, arming, and training Neonazis there for years.

I also didn’t like this vid. Too much liberal “putin bad!”, not even commenting on the state of crimea or the donbass republics being under attack from ukraine, with thousands dead. They at least did point out NATO expansionism, but then tried to “both sides” this and make it seem like Russia is being the aggressor.

Yeah the way he talked about Crimea being annexed by Russia made it sound like Putin’s ambitions are to snatch as much land as he can from Ukraine. But that glosses over Crimea’s historical relationship to Russia, how they’ve been on the receiving end of Ukrainian violence, and how they voted to secede. The history of the Donbas region was similarly ignored which is wild because that’s a huge part of what caused this war.

Ultimately I believe that Boy Boy thinks that this war was started by Putin because he’s the one who got the Russian army involved, which is narrow-minded imo. It’s dumb to let your enemy make the first move and the US was the one building up an anti-Russian Nazi army on Russia’s borders. Do westerners think that Russia should have gotten involved only after Ukraine completed their genocide of ethnic Russians?

      Yeah, it’s mostly

Erm Ackshually you’re misinformed. Russia would have invaded westward anyway, it’s just coincidence it didn’t happen for 30 years of NATO expansion until they expanded to Ukraine, because they’re Nazis trying to rebuild the USSR for oligarchs

And of course obligatory claims that Boy Boy must be Russian propagandists.
