So you created an API using OpenWeatherMap API? what’s the benefit of using this over the OWM API?
OpenWeatherMap basically only provides current weather data and forecast data. If you want to know more (for an example, air pollution), you need to call another API that OWM provides.
Serenum API provides current weather data + weather forecast, astronomical data, air pollution, risk of pollen (requires an API key from Ambee), grams of H2O per kg of air, and detailed date and time information of the chosen place + information about the place (like address, city, county, etc.). All in 1 place.
Serenum API also let you see the current weather differences between 2 places + the distance between them 2.

OpenWeatherMap have now replied to my email to them where I asked what they logged when calling their API. And they do log a lot! IP addresses, location, operating system, and more.
I will prepare to make the move to met.no while waiting for their reply to the same question. Hopefully, they will not log as much or better yet, nothing at all.
I use the window of my salon with a weather station. I don’t like weather apps, because they need your location to work properly, which can be a privacy hole. A cheap electronic weather station has the same or even more accuracy. They work with an sensor outside, to measure humidity, atmospheric pressure, etc. When you need the weather, because of an trip, you can consult the global weather map for you country or for the destination.

Compared to other weather services, Serenum API will never use your geolocation or IP address to pinpoint your location. You enter this information manually in the address field.
When the new website for Serenum releases, it will never use your IP address nor your geolocation. You will enter the desire location via a form. The current website at serenum.org/beta do geolocate you, but only on your terms. But since it’s only a beta, that feature does not always work.
Serenum are and will always be free to use, and Serenum will never log anything about you. OpenWeatherMap and Ambee (if enabled) might log something about you, though.
Weather forecasts aren’t even as accurate as many claim to be. Especially any forecast that’s past 48 hours is bs. You may have a macro trend but not for a specific location. And an app that tells you it’ll definitely rain in an hour is just nonsense.
For privacy it’s always best to set your location manually. There’s no reason to give an app access to your specific location. Even if you move into another town/city for work. The weather will be likely the same or very close.
