Every time I browse without adblock it blows my mind how shitty an experience it is. I genuinely don’t know how people browse the internet every day with so many ads being shoved in their faces.
This has been my experience. I installed pihole at home and kinda just forgot about it - set up a few decent lists, and put it on my roster for checking and updating. Then I visited some family and loaded up some of my ‘usual’ sites, and was horrified. It was like they had been vandalized. I support sites, creators, and institutions with direct payments when that is made possible, but I do not feel the slightest remorse for blocking advertising.
My observation is those people realize, wow internet is shit. And then stop using it because it’s not worth their time.
