I remember several years ago r/Casual Conversation was brimming with interesting and candid discussion. As it gained more and more traction I saw it go through the same evolution that killed r/IAmA and r/askreddit. More popularity means more traffic, more traffic means more posts, more posts means stricter moderating, stricter moderating means less “casual” posts. Before long it was just another upvote machine, and that’s when I dipped out.

So having said that, how is your morning going? Did you do anything cool this weekend?

How deep are you into 3d printers? Do you have a couple you are learning about or do you have a room full of them? People seem to gravitate to the extremes 🤣

I’ve had 1 Prusa MK3S+ for a little over a year, and I just got a 2nd one about a month ago. It’s true, one is not enough after a while. I’ve gotten into to CAD design using Fusion 360 and I have tons of designs waiting to be printed. Have done a bunch of mods as well as a printed enclosure for one and currently printing the 2nd. It’s an awesome hobby. I’m a disabled veteran and I don’t work anymore so 3D print stuff takes up my time nowadays. Finding little things around the house that I can make better by prints is so fun to me.

That’s awesome, such a practical hobby. I tried to get into it with an UP MINI years ago but had too many competing hobbies already (read: not retired) so didn’t really catch for me. I’m sure it’ll come back at another time though

I’d been following 3D printing for years and finally had some extra dough to get a nice printer. And now I just want a whole farm of them, haha.
