      there probably are, it’s just that nobody is crazy enough to be using this atrocious system 🤷‍♀️

      These are at either end of some pedestrian crossings. Usually there aren’t instructions though - just bright flags to increase visibility.

      This IS at a pedestrian crossing. But cars over here have a tendency to mow you down when crossing at an uncontrolled crosswalk (i.e. no traffic light), probably because they never expect pedestrians since literally everyone drives everywhere, so they don’t give a shit about the pedestrian signals.

      It looks like it’s a pedestrian crossing on a road with two traffic lanes in each directions, plus a turning lane. Because of the high speeds and car-centric design, drivers often wouldn’t see pedestrians in time. It’s the hazard of a strode.

        If they need to do this, just have an actual traffic light FFS. Those weird crosswalk yellow strobes make no sense when you can just have a normal red light that switches every minute.
