Yeah it’s a very US centric view of the world, which is unsurprising even for left western media. However, I do think Chomsky is correct that western hegemony over the world is under serious threat now and western leaders simply don’t have the skills or intelligence to counter it.

Someone needs to write a translator from 'murican to normal English. So basically, replace every occurence of world, global etc with “united states”. Would make such articles actually legible.

We’re moving towards a multipolar world where no single country dominates. That said, China leading the world would be far better than US in every respect. This isn’t even debatable.

It is debatable… only for the superimperialist capitalists or plenty Anglosphere residents.

I think that Russia definitely does not want to become a general gendarme who sticks his toe wherever he can and finds “his” interests wherever he can. Only a multipolar world, where each country will respect the other side and build peace on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation. That’s what the Russians think, that’s what Putin said yesterday at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. There was a fairly large speech dedicated to this.

Not sure if you’re being facetious or if you’re just ignorant of what is going on in the world.
