Fallout New Vegas
Based
Dragon Age: Origins. I’ve played through it start to back probably 30 times or so.
Wow. But i agree, it was very good. Pity the expansion seems unifinished like there is only half of it.
I swear, idk what it is about that game that’s so magnetic to me. Even talking about it I wanna go back and make a string of choices I haven’t made before! Romance Zevran, go full Blood Mage every chance I get and consort with demons, do all the shitworld stuff I’ve been too goody two shoes before to do lol. It’s not only individual choices that feel like they matter, but the whole of it!
I agree though, Awakening felt pretty half-assed in more than a couple ways. It was the first time they stopped allowing you to initiate dialogue with companions while exploring, and it and the sequels suffer immensely for it imo. I still really enjoyed Awakening’s overall story, darkspawn achieving sapience is rad as hell. My absolute favorite part of it is if you became King of Ferelden in the base game, Queen Anora kisses you goodbye. They just did such a good job all around making choices feel like they had weight imo.
I didn’t actually liked the world very much, but the game itself was one of the best rpg’s (and thus the reason i loath the current “rpg’s” that are barely anything more than a slashers with stats and few dialogues). Also, surprise Zevran romance was something that a lot of my acquaintances did accidentally and i had tons of fun then (you know, polish gamers).
Zevran is so damn suave he can seduce Polish gamers without them even noticing
XD

RDR2
By the sheer amount of times I played them, I’d say some toss up between Halo: Reach, Dead Space 2, or Age of Empires 2.
Dead Space 2 was one of the few games I thoroughly enjoyed enough to go full completionist with and unlock the foam finger. Definitely one the of the best games in terms of pacing.
I’ll list some of my favourites in no particular order. Dear Esther, Spec Ops: The Line, Deus Ex, The Thalos Principle, The Silver Case, the two first Amnesia games, The Wlaking Dead Season One, The Return of the Obra Dinn, Bury Me My Love, and there are some other like Half Life which are well known so it is not like worth mentioning since you know they are good.
We have a Steam group and curator page with recommendations of video games which resonate with our ideas, you can find it here.
Just finished Walking Dead s1. Bcuz of the meme reputation Telltale has garnered I thought it was gonna be mostly ass. I loved it, though. I also love the show so that helped.
I think it provides the best kind of use of that narrative with options kind of games, since they are limitated because creating different stories is really expensive and requires a lot of worl force. Instead the options you choose are related to Clementine character development with details of what will stay with her in the process of her becoming an adult. I haven’t watched the series but the comics are pretty great.
Sekiro, Nioh 2, God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, Mario Odyssey
Pokemon even though it’s being ruined by Game Freak Fallout 4 (especially with mods) Just Cause 3/4 Persona/SMT
Fallout 4 Soviet Goodneighbor mod goes hard
That Lenin statue is lit!!! I wish they let you change all the statues to famous communist figures
I love how the first sentence accidentally implies that Pokémon is in the Fallout universe haha
I was trying to put in a list but it didn’t work lol
Stellaris.
In no particular order: StarCraft 1 and 2, Metroid Fusion, RuneScape (don’t play anymore but lots of fond memories), Undertale, Stellaris, and Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2. But if I had to pick just one it would probably be StarCraft 2. I was never that good at PvP melee but I really enjoyed the campaigns and custom maps.
monobattles was my life for a full year or two
Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Skyrim
not sure, but Super Meat Boy is up there
ARK: Survival Evolved
When I was a wee lad ARK was my favorite game but it could never launch on my PC at my dads–it would just quit after I’d boot it up-- so I just spent hours hopelessly trying to redownload and boot it up again. (Our ping on games was in the 1000s for reference).
Then to make it up, my mom got me it…
on the switch
Middle school me envies you, lol.
